Event Information

Historical information. This address served the Chamber's event database between roughly 2005 and 2011, with a separate record for each event. Individual event records included dates, fees, registration links and speaker lists. What follows is an index of the programmes that ran through it.

For most of the second half of the 2000s the Chamber ran its calendar out of a database-driven event system, and this was the address every individual event listing resolved to. This index shows what the event system carried.

Recurring Programmes in the Event Database

Business Exchanges

The sector matchmaking series was the largest recurring item, with editions across broadband, new media, web technology, telehealth, water technology and health information technology. Each edition had its own micro-site alongside the main event record, and each was built around pre-arranged one-to-one meetings between selected Israeli companies and US buyers, investors and partners. See US-Israel Business Exchanges.

The Annual Gala

The Eagle Star Awards Gala appeared annually, together with its sponsor and award-category records. See Eagle Star Awards Gala.

Professional Seminars

The annual professional and business seminar ran through this system from the mid-2000s, with earlier editions carried on standalone static pages. See the professional seminar.

Briefings and Workshops

The near-monthly programme of member briefings made up the bulk of individual records: incoming Israeli delegations presenting in a sector, funding-programme briefings, practical workshops on export documentation and US market entry, and updates on state-level collaborations.

Trade Missions

Outbound business missions to Israel — general, industry-specific and corporate — were listed here with their itineraries and registration details.

Why This Address Still Exists

Between 2005 and 2011, the Chamber used a central event information system for announcements, newsletter items and partner listings. When the Chamber moved to a new platform in 2011 the entire event system went with it, and those links were left pointing at nothing.

The programmes above summarise the recurring activities listed in the Chamber's event records. A broader overview appears in the events calendar.

How the Chamber's Web Presence Changed

The Chamber presented its programmes through several publishing systems over the years, from static listings to a database-driven calendar.

The Chamber used several publishing systems, including HTML.

Each migration silently orphaned the previous generation's addresses.

What the Records Contained

A typical event record in this system carried a title, a date and venue, a description, a fee schedule for members and non-members, a registration link, and often a speaker list and sponsor acknowledgements. The dates are long past, the registration links are inactive, and the speaker and sponsor details may be out of date. The programme index above is what remains meaningful.
